Renovations & extensions

Renovation and extension plans for the home you have.

A new layout, more space or a considered extension can change how your home works. We start with the house you have and design the changes around how you want to live.

What the work involves

01

Understanding the existing house

We gather the information available — existing plans, council records, photos and measurements — so the design starts from an accurate picture of the home.

02

Existing and proposed layouts

Drawings of the house as it is and as proposed make the change clear, so you can compare options and decide with confidence.

03

Connecting new and old

We consider how new work relates to the original house — structure, rooflines, materials, light and flow — so the result feels resolved.

04

Agreed design and documentation

The drawings agreed for your project are prepared, with consultant coordination where included in the proposal.

A useful place to start

Bring what you have. You don’t need every answer before we talk.

Use the planning checklist
  • What you’d like to change, and why
  • Any existing plans or council records
  • Photos of the house and the areas involved
  • An indicative budget, if you have one
  • Your preferred timing

Questions

Concept plans or consent drawings?

Concept plans test layout, form and fit on the site so you can make decisions before committing to detail. They are not building-consent documentation.

Consent documentation is the detailed set of drawings and specifications prepared for your building-consent application, usually alongside inputs such as a survey, geotechnical or structural engineering, which are engaged and charged separately where needed. Council fees are also separate.
